Danny Dean Spurlin age 70 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Danny was born in Galax, Virginia on November 10, 1953 to Wesley and Lala Smith Spurlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Wesley Spurlin, Jr.; Kenneth Spurlin and Dale Spurlin.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Amy Danielle and Kenneth Jennings of Fries, Virginia; Selena Ashley and Timothy Rice of Fancy Gap, Virginia; brother John Wayne Spurlin of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law Doris Spurlin Edwards and Ruth Spurlin; one nephew Steven Wesley Spurlin.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church in Baywood with Elder Pete Hawks and Elder Hebert Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church.
