Danna Lou Amburn Ward age 84 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday September 11, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Ward was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 9, 1938 to Cosmo Boyd and Jessie Marie Carico Amburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and father of the children J.C. Ward and a brother William Thomas Amburn.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Charles and Susie Ward;  Harvey and Jill Ward all of Galax, Virginia;  Phillis and Duane Kirby of North Carolina; grandchildren and spouses Kari and Will Strickland of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Justin and Krista Ward of Galax, Virginia; Jessica and Christopher Packett of Texas; Kris and Mary Lynne Ward of Independence, Virginia; Amanda and Spencer Bessette ; ten great-grandchildren Braeden Ward; Levi Ward; Luke Ward; Grayson Ward; Jacey Ward; Hadli Strickland; Kylie Ward; Ryan Packett; Benjamin Packett and Madison Kate Bessette.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:30 PM in the Blue Ridge Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor Mark Mayes and Pastor Derek Cowan officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
