Daniel G. Dixon, Jr. age 59 of Fries, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home.

Danny was born on April 30, 1955 in Galax, Virginia to Daniel G. and Hazel Haga Dixon.

Danny loved gospel music and was an accomplished musician. "His music was in his soul." His musical heritage came from a family rich in music. He was instrumental in the music ministry of his church and he loved working on the annual Christmas Cantata. In his last days here on earth, he spent many hours recording sons on CD, both solo and with his good friend Justin Patton.

He is survived by his loving sister Sandra Dixon of Fries, Virginia; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, his special friend and singing partner Justin Patton; many friends and his special caregivers Janice Sawyers, Johnetta Harden and Beverley Johnson.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Haga officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 noon until time for the funeral service at the Grace Baptist Church.

Danny will be remembered for his music and wonderful personality.
