Daisy Carpenter Vaughan age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at her home. She was born on October l, 1924 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Lawrence P. and Ola Lartha Frost Alley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son Dr. Lawrence Carpenter, Jr. and a sister, Mildred Boyer. She is survived by two special first cousins, R.P. Taylor of Hillsville, Va. and Willa Ring of Woodlawn, Va.; special caregivers and friends, Gardella Sexton of Independence, Va.; and Nathan Combs of Galax, Va.; several other first cousins also survive. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Bob Adams officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Laurel Rescue Squad.
