Curtiss Derek Kegley age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home.

Curtiss was born in Pulaski, Virginia on April 3, 1938 to Frank and Inez Bunts Kegley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-great-grandson Preston Carter Gertin; brothers Darrell Kegley and Neil Kegley; niece Mary Ruth Wikie andhis dogs Dank, Henry and Henry.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Wienberry Kegley of Galax, Virginia;  daughter and son-in-law Grace and Mike Gertin of Independence, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Larry and Angie Largin Jr ; David Largin of Murrells Inlet, South, Carolina; seven grandchildren Jill Rivera, Jason Gertin, Matthew Gertin, Jennifer Westmoreland, Michael Largin, Reid Largin and Ryan Largin; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his dogs Lucky, Bandit, Bella and Vader.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the Gladeville United Methodist Church with Pastor Terri Gregory and Pastor David Payne officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM until time for the memorial service at the church. The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the Waggintrain Community Outreach 6856 Carrollton Pike, Galax, Virginia 24333 or to the Gladeville United Methodist Church.
