Curtis N. Chappell, age 77, of Galax passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Chappell was born December 24, 1932 in Carroll County, Virignia to Wise Chappell and Callie Harmon Chappell.

He is survived by his wife: Pearl Ramey Chappell of the home, two daugthers and sons-in-law: Brenda & Ray Isom, Michele and Larry Diamond all of Galax; granddaughter: Dawn Sage & spouse Tuck of Galax; two brothers & sisters-in-law: James & Barbara Chappell and Roosevelt & Helen Chappell all of Hillsville; two brothers-in-law and spouse: Donald Ramey and Grey & Linda Ramey of Galax; two sisters-in-law & spouse: Lema Chappell and Virginia & Bill Thompson all of Galax. Also surviving are step grandson Nicholas Sage, special friends David & Pam Flippin, along with several nieces, nephews and other special friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 PM at funeral home. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Myron Dalton, Rev. Ted Bartlett and Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Camp Zion Cemetery.
