Creed Elbert Burcham age 91 of Woodlawn, Va. passed away Thursday, January 24,2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Burcham was born on August 27,1916 in Carroll County, Va. to Henry McGarvey & Elizabeth Sumner Burcham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lema Burcham and a son Earl Ray Burcham. He is survived by his children and their spouses Elbert & Macie Burcham; Daisy & Coldon Linville all of Hillsville, Va.; Glenn & Barbara Burcham; Joyce & Lane Bartlett; Evelyn & Randy Parks all of Woodlawn, Va.; Esther & Kenneth Dillon of Canton, Ohio; Donald Burcham of Galax, Va.; daughter-in-law Deanna K. Burcham of Galax, Va.; sister Vera Parsons of Townsend, Delaware; brother Lester Burcham of Patrick Springs, Va.; eighteen grandchildren & step-grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Charles Moretz officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
