Coy Robert Branscome age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Mr. Branscome was born on February 28, 1924 in Carroll County, Virginia to Isaac W. and Callie Mitchell Branscome. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Opal Branscome and a sister.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Darrell and Sylvia Branscome of Yorktown, Virginia; Barry and Ann Branscome of Galax, Virginia; granddaughters and spouse Angel and Ronnie Reynolds; Tyler Lindell Branscome.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Edward Bowman and Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church; the Galax Primitive Baptist Church or to the Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
