Cora Mae Swinney's Obituary
Cora Mae Swinney, 51, of Fries passed away Friday February 5 at her home. She was born October 14, 1958 in Carroll County, Virginia to George W. Ray and
Ella Mae Gravley Ray.
She is survived by her husband: Junior Swinney of the home; Daughters & son-in-law: Jennifer M. Cecil and Linda & Darrell Stanley all of Fries; four grandsons: Jason Bowman, Cole Stanley, Seth Stanley, and Logan Cecil; two step granddaughters Kayla & Nikki Cecil; step mother Nancy Ray; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary and Charlie Clyburn, Connie & David Osborne, Jackie & Pete Stanley all of Fries; Carol & Tony Crowder of Galax; three brothers & a sister-in-law: Harold & Regina Summey, Roger Ray all of Fries and George Ray, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama. Also surviving are several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law and nieces & nephews.
Cora was preceded in death by her mother Ella Mae Gravely Summey and her father George Wenton Ray.
The funeral service will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Tim Swinney officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery at Fries. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
