Cora Della Hill Shaffner's Obituary
Cora Della Hill Shaffner age 83 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Mrs. Shaffner was born in Grayson County, Virginia on November 29, 1928 to Steve and Belle Wilson Hill.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin M. Shaffner, sister Pearl Faulkner and brother Andy Hill.
She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Barker; son and daughter-in-law Billy and Debbie Shaffner all of Fries, Virginia; sister Bessie Lineberry of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Joy and Ronald Jones; Dustin Shaffner and Kim; Bradley and Jennifer Barker; five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Ronald (BoBo) Gravley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
