Connie Maude Melton Burcham age 74 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. Burcham was born in Carroll County, Va. on October 19, 1935 to Lawrence & Nina Combs Melton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kyle Robert Burcham; sisters Carolyn Melton & Beulah Felts and brother Ralph Melton.
She is survived by her daughters Dianne & Tim Speer of Cana, Va.; Darlene & Ronnie Freeman of Fancy Gap, Va.; sons Donald Burcham of Fancy Gap, Va.; Ronald Burcham of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Bradley Burcham of the home; sisters Lannie Bond of Fancy Gap, Va. and Mozelle Felts of Cana, Va.; brothers Virgil Melton of Fancy Gap, Va.; Bobby Melton of Galax, Va.; Melvin Melton of Elkin, N.C. and Sterling Melton of Cana, Va.; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Blue Ridge Chapel Church with Rev. Dewey Felts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
