Cloa B. Lester age 104 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, December 15,2008 in Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mrs. Lester was born in West Virginia on July 15, 1904 to Levi & Rosa Bell Meadows Blankenship. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Lester and a son Paul Lester. She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Beulah & Frank Yost of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; Evalina Thomas of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; sons & daughters-in-law Halsey Lester of Fries, Va,; Claude & Joyce Lester of Brentwood, Tennessee; Gentry & Eilene Lester of Troutville, Va.; Elwood & Deann Lester of Standardsville,Va.; thirty-three grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 19, 2008 at 12:00 o;clock noon in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Roy Carter and Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
