Clifton Eugene Vaughan, 85, of Fries passed away Sunday, May 28th in the Grayson Nursing & Rehab, Independence, Virginia. Mr. Vaughan was born February 15, 1932 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Edgar Clement and Grace Lee Stanley Vaughan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Hines, Aleese Carico, brothers Ray Vaughan, Elroy Vaughan and Darrell Vaughan.

He is survived by his wife Mary Margaret Shupe Vaughan of the home; sisters Mildred Jones of Galax, Geneva Nuckolls of Pulaski, Nancy Castillo of Fries, Wilma Campbell of Max Meadows and Doris Davis of Hillsville. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 5:00 PM at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Tony Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 PM until time for the service.
