Clayton Owen Dixon age 87 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday September 8, 2021 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mr.  Dixon was born in Galax, Virginia on February 27, 1934 to Marion and Emily Beckner Dixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ruth Sawyers Dixon; daughter Dama Alderman and grandson Keith Dixon.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Diane and Ernest Davis of Fries, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Donnie and Barbara Dixon of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Kenny Cook of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Brian and Angela Dixon; Douglas Davis; Jennifer and Lee Coomes; Chris Dixon; Stephanie Robinson; Crissy and John Church; T.J. Sumner; great-grandchildren Matt Coomes; Emily Coomes; Jacob Robinson; Ethan Robinson; Ty Dixon; Jordan Peoples; Dougie Peoples; Lee-Lee Peoples;  Dylan Dixon; Kylee Sumner; Kabel Sumner; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends Karen Wimmple and CheeChee. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Pastor Garry Adams and Pastor Lee Thomas officiating. There will be no visitation.
