Clayton Spurgeon Smith better known as C.S. Smith age 72 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

C.S. was born on October 7, 1946 in Carroll County, Virginia. In addition to his mother Irene Crawford Smith, he was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Smith.

He is survived by his wife C. Jean Smith; son Stacy Smith both of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Jami and Kris Handy of Woodlawn, Virginia; Kari Jones of Raleigh, North Carolina; great-grandson Mason Jones; two nephews Preston Smith and Phillip Smith; several close friends.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Ronny Harrison and Dale Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
