Claude Witten "C.W." Leonard age 93 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 in Waddell Nursing Home. Mr. Leonard was born on September 22, 1914 in Grayson County, Va. to John Perry & Mary Elizabeth Roberts Leonard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Julian Carroll Leonard. He is survived by his wife Helen Sutherland Leonard of Galax, Va.; daughters & sons-in-law Betty & Ralph Farmer of Salem, Va.; Wilma & Jimmy Poe of Galax, Va.; sons & daughter-in-law Phillip Leonard of Lynchburg, Va.; Warren & Bonnie Leonard of Galax, Va.; sisters Edith Sutherland of Galax, Va.; Beulah Morgan of Hertford, N.C.; brothers & sisters-in-law Harold Eugene & Nancy Leonard of Hyattsville, Md.; Thurman & Pauline Leonard of Galax, Va.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 3:00 pm in Locust Grove Church of Christ with Matt Hayne, Jim Gibbons and Guy Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 pm until service time at Locust Grove Church of Christ.
