Clarence Raymond Bowers age 69 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Clarence was born in Carroll County, Virginia on July 28, 1942 to Raymond and Ruby Lineberry Bowers. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Howard Ray Bowers.
He is survived by his wife Janice Cox Bowers; son and daughter-in-law Travis and Heather Bowers all of Galax, Virginia; mother Ruby Lineberry Bowers of Woodlawn, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Myrtle and Kent Davis of Eads, Tennessee; Pat Diamond of King, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Barbara Bowers of Woodlawn, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the River Hill Christian Church with Rev. Leo Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until time for the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the River Hill Christian Church.
