Chester William Bays, age 93 of Galax, VA, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA.
Mr. Bays was born April 8, 1919 at Shorts Creek in Carroll County, VA to Raleigh J. & Willie Florence Edmonds Bays. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alma Greene Bays, brother, Howard Bays, step-daughter & husband, Sally & Bud Shermer and step-son, Joe Greene.
He is survived by his step children, Ronnie & Mary Greene, Ennice, NC; Jim & Ann Greene, Pfafftown, NC; step-daughter-in-law Alice Greene, Lexington, NC; very special friend, (Kay) Katherine Bohon, Galax, VA; several step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at 12 Noon at the Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, VA. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Rex Tolliver. There will be no visitation.
