Charlie Austin Hicks age 2 years passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Duke University Hospital.
Charlie was born in Durham, North Carolina on November 19, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Charlie Wilton and Ella Jean Hicks and Ernest Clarence Payne.
He is survived by his mother Misty Dawn Hicks; brothers James "Preston" Hicks and Kole Douglas Carter; maternal grandparents James Lewis Hicks, Sr. and Martha "Sue" Hicks; great-grandmother Blanche Moss all of Cana, Virginia; uncle and aunt James Lewis Hicks, Jr. and Samantha; cousins Brady Hicks; Maddie Hicks; Mason Hicks and Kinley Hicks.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Donald Bell officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
The family is very grateful for the love and care given to Charlie by the staff at the Duke University Hospital where most of his short life was spent.
