Charlie Whitfield Hale passed away on February 9th. He was born on April 29, 1923 to Eli and Sally Carico Hale. He had nine siblings. He was married to Jenevia Hutchins for 45 years until her death in 1995. They had two children Gregory Charles and Pamela Susan and one granddaughter Rachel Bradley. Mr. Hale was proud to have served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II and to have been a carpenter and homebuilder. Graveside services will be held at Leonard Memorial Church Cemetery Sunday at 2:00 PM with Marvin Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Leonard Memorial Church Cemetery Fund. Friends are welcome to come by the home at 1154 Patton Mill Lane Galax, Virginia after the graveside service.
