Charlie G. Akers Jr born June 17, 1932 in Carroll County, Virginia made his transition at Arbor Ridge at Stanleyville, North Carolina on January 19, 2021.

Charlie, also known as C. G.,  was preceded in death by his father Charlie G. Akers, Sr, mother Effie Vass Akers, brother Paul Bryan Akers and sisters Pauline Akers Porch, Marie Akers Mitchell, and Ann Akers Hanks.

He is survived by his wife Jean Worrell Akers of the Arbor Ridge at Stanleyville, NC; son Wiley Mac Akers of Rural Hall, North Carolina; daughter Lynn Akers Hawks of Pfafftown, North Carolina; sister Margie Dean Mitchell of Bel Air, Maryland: grandchildren Heather Leedy Donavant (Randy) of Rural Hall, North Carolina; Justin Spencer Akers of Reidsville, NC; Chelsea Ann Akers of Stoneville, North Carolina; great grandchildren Randall Chase Donavant and Tyler James Donavant.  Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Private Graveside service and burial with Pastor Terri Gregory will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Coulson Cemetery, Coulson Church Road, Hillsville, VA  24333

A Celebration of Life ceremony to be held at a later date.

Mask and Social Distancing will be required at the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers the Akers family respectfully requests that donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care or the charity of their choice.
