Charles Raymond Lowe age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Lowe was born on March 28, 1926 in the Cripple Creek Community of Wythe County, Virginia to James Harvey and Lucy Collins Lowe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Raymond Cecil Lowe and nine brothers and sisters.

Mr. Lowe proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the Elkhorn Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ruth Harmon Lowe of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Raymond Gregory and Marilyn Goode Lowe of Lawrenceville, Georgia; David Wayne and Sharon Farmer Lowe of Norwood, North Carolina; three grandchildren Jennifer Mary Gene Lowe Stockwell, Robert Alexander Gregory Lowe and Whitley Rose Hui Lowe; three great-grandchildren William Gregory Stockwell, Benjamin James Stockwell and Olivia Michelle Lowe; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. David W. Lowe officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
