Charles David Higgins, Sr. known as David Higgins  age 74 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday in the Woltz Hospice Home at Dobson, North Carolina.

David was born in Grayson County, Virginia on October 30, 1948 to Heath and Alma Higgins.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Jean Hawks Higgins; daughters and sons-in-law Dawn Higgins; Angie and Doug Cox; Dana Anne and Chris Sayers; son Chuck Higgins; three grandchildren  Chloe Sage Cox; Sydney Falon Sayers and Franklin Grant Sayers; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Joan Higgins all of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Meadow Creek Cemetery with Elder Greg Hawks and David Reeves officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
