Charles Feree Hanks age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday July 20, 2021 in the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

Charles was born in Grayson County, Virginia on September 30, 1948 to Roy and Linnie Farmer Hanks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Wanda Mae Hanks and Barbara Jean McKenzie.

He is survived by a daughter Linnie Suzanne Hanks; sisters and brothers-in-law Emily and George Wright of Galax, Virginia; Darlene and Mike Mulqueeny of Newport, North Carolina; Beverly and Frank Frederick of Alexandria, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Billy and Virginia Hanks; David and Kathe Hanks all of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews, many special friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Baywood Rescue Squad Building with Jimmy Farmer officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
