Charles Donald Wright better known as Bud Wright age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Wright was born in Grayson County, Virginia on February 20, 1937 to Charles Dyer and Myrtle Millwood Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson William Brandon Martin; sisters and brothers-in-law Betty and Buck Davis; Lois and Junior Jennings; brother and sister-in-law Maurice and Patsy Wright.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Frances Diamond Wright; daughter and son-in-law Denise and William Martin all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Lindsey and Terrell Wilson; Bryan and Josie Martin; Kaitlyn Martin; great-grandchildren Kinsley Wilson and Madisyn Wilson; sister and brother-in-law Barbara Ann and David Harmon of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Larry Diamond officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
