Charles Whitfield Combs' Obituary
Charles Whitfield Combs, 79, of the Delhart Community of Galax, passed away Thursday, April 19 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Combs was born May 21, 1927 in Grayson County to Charlie Franklin Combs and Ruth Donithan Combs.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Ralph Charles & Phyllis Combs of Greenville, NC; one granddaughter, Courtney Madre of Greenville, NC; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Nadine Jennings and Wilda Ann and Gene Fayne all of Galax; several nieces and nephews. Among survivors are special friends Ray Belton and Jerry Bullins; friends Julie Dean, Becky Lundy, Pete Has, Chad Marsh, Katrina Hill and Jennifer Cecil.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 22 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Gene Strickland officiating.
