Charles Lake Burris age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Burris was born on December 6, 1930 in Grayson County, Virginia to Garlie and Mildred Simms Burris.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Burris of Galax, Virginia; daughter Connie Burris Roberts of Fries, Virginiia; son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Sarah Burris of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Seth Burris, Caleb Burris and Emily Burris; sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Dave Volkenborns of Roscommon, Mi.; brother and sister-in-law Gary and Angie Burris of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Lucille Burris of Roanoke, Virginia; one niece; one nephew and special friend Angel.
The funeral service will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Darrin Brannock officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
