Charles Leon Black, age 82, of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday June 5, 2020 in the Grayson Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Charles was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 15, 1937 to the late Dallas and Mae Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Louise and J.T. Byrd; brother Glees Black; and longtime girlfriend Barbara (Dee) Lambert.

He is survived by his nephew and spouse Ricky and Lisa Byrd of Independence; great nephew and fiancé William Byrd and Leslie Grose of Fries; great-great nephew Mason Kyle Byrd of Fries; step-great niece Tiffany Melton of Fries; and special family friends Becky (Peanut) Joyce of Hillsville and Amanda (Mandy) Vaughan of Galax.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday June 9, 2020 at 12PM in Liberty Hill Cemetery with Eddie Stanley officiating. There will be no visitation.
