Charles Allen (Charlie) Alderman age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home.

Charlie was born in Pulaski, Virginia on January 12, 1949 to Charles Elvis and Nina Ellen Farmer Alderman.

He is survived by his wife Sandy Alderman of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Danny and Vicki Alderman of Galax, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Nicole Alderman of Woodlawn, Virginia; Charity Shupe and her fiance' Damon Smith; Amy and Robby Lundy all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Jane and Ronnie Taylor of Woodlawn, Virginia; Margaret Alderman of Hillsville, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Clyde and Joyce Alderman of Franklin, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Myron Dalton and Dr. Clyde Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from five until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Midway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund, P.O. Box 1135, Galax, Virginia 24333.

Charlie was a valued and beloved member of our family at Vaughan-Guynn and Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady for many years. His life with the Guynn family and their employees began when he was still in High School working with Gene Bunn and others at the Guynn Department Store in Hillsville.
