Cecil Forest Hanks, age 84, of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Monday November 1, 2021 in his home.

Cecil was born on November 30, 1936 in Carroll Co., Virginia to Glen and Myrtle Burnett Hanks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Buford Hanks.

He is survived by his wife Janet Snow Hanks of Woodlawn, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Mary Hanks of Galax; grandchild and spouse Sherry and Justin Barnard; great-grandchildren Christian Barnard and Tori Barnard; niece and spouse Angie and Robert Lineberry; and nephew and spouse Wayne and Shelia Hanks.

The funeral service will be held Thursday November 4, 2021 @ 11:00 AM in Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. James Cowley and John Leek officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillcrest Building Fund.
