Cecil Norton Ayers age 85 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. Ayers was born in the Fancy Gap Community of Carroll County, Virginia on March 22, 1934 to Arless and Mary Velen Pugh Ayers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Imogene Allen and Dorothy Senter; two brothers Kenneth Ayers and Samuel Ayers.

He married Edith Dawn Lawson on May 15, 1954. He loved to go to church and repented on July 28, 1963.

In addition to his wife Dawn Ayers of Woodlawn, Virginia he is survived by his daughter Vickie Sue Evans of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Tony Randall and Susan Epperson Ayers of Woodlawn, Virginia;  sister Annie Haynes of Cana, Virginia; half-sisters Barbara Jean Hawks of Hillsville, Virginia; Susan Presnell of North Carolina; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Oakland Cemetery with Pastor Rodney Christman officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
