Cathrene Gray Moretz age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Moretz was born in Lillybrook, West Virginia on July 12, 1936 to Lawrence and Mary Smith Gray. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ira Eugene Moretz and a daughter Brenda Kay Moretz.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Chuck and Pam Moretz; Bobby Moretz all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Johnathan and Emily Moretz; Melissa Moretz; Chad and Tyla Moretz; nine great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law Julie and Carl Murphy of Low Gap, N.C.; Thelma Roberts of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Roy and Frances Gray of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Junior Bullion officiating. Burial will follow in the Galax City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family request no flowers please and donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
