Carson Brent Hamm, age 84, of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday April 12, 2019 at the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center in Galax, Virginia.

Mr. Hamm was born in Wythe County, Virginia on August 25, 1934 to the late Lula Shepherd Waller. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his children's mother Lorine Hamm.

He is survived by his wife Dora Hamm of Fries, Virginia; daughter and spouse Carolyn and Ronnie Payne of Dobson, North Carolina; son and spouse Ricky and Patricia Hamm of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren Joseph Payne of King, North Carolina and Brooke Hamm of Fries, Virginia. Also surviving are sister and spouse Louanna and Carl Epley of Christiansburg, Virginia; brother Charles Hamm of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday April 15, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Payne and Reverend Ben Haga officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fries, Virginia with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 PM until time of the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
