Carroll Jean Smith's Obituary
Carroll Jean Smith better known as Buddy age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Buddy was born in Galax, Virginia on May 23, 1945 to Arthur Wickham and Minnie Bowers Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Bill Smith and L.A. Smith.
He is survived by his wife Janet Smith of Galax, Virginia; step-daughters Lynda Smythers (Jeff Morrison); Barbara Wright(Billy) all of Galax, Virginia; sister Dorothy Sharp of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Tiny and Dorothy J. Smith of Hillsville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; six step-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; numerous step-great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Ronny Harrison and the Rev. Tim Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
