Carolyn Ann Whitaker age 51 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday June 28, 2021 in the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Carolyn was born in Wytheville, Virginia on January 19,1970 to Charlie Frank and Annie Pearl Bullard Driver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Frances McFarland and three brothers Charles Lee Driver, Charles Thomas Driver and Roger Driver.

She is survived by her husband Billy Whitaker; daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Jordan Coleson; son and special friend James Whitaker and Cheyanne Dull; brother and sister-in-law Frankie and Joyce Driver all of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren Payton Whitaker and Karleigh Coleson; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Derek Cowan and Pastor Curtis Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
