Carolyn Ann Lawson Pierce age 73 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday January 12, 2017 at her home.

Carolyn was born on March 5, 1943 in Cripple Creek, Virginia to Eugene French and Frankie Ellen Collins Lawson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Wendy Hill Sisk Pierce.

She is survived by her husband Earl Dean Pierce, Sr. of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Ronald "Ronnie" D. and Melissa Pierce of Ivanhoe, Virginia; Julian D. Pierce; Earl D. and Traci Pierce, Jr. all of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Jason N. Pierce; Brittany A. and Jamie Linkous; Ivory D. Pierce and Jason Dixon; Autumn F. and Patrick Shaw; Chelsea Thomas; Heather W. Trimble; great-grandchildren Katy P. Pierce; Lexi L. Linkous; Justin C. Trimble; Hunter L. Trimble; sister Emogene Anders of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Brenda Lawson of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; several special friends.

The funeral service will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
