Carol Ann Vaughan Murphy age 81 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday April 3, 2022 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Grayson County, Virginia on January 8, 1941 to Marshall Thomas and India Pearl Fields Vaughan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Troy Franklin Murphy, Jr.; siblings and spouses Phyllis and Kent Porter; Barbara and Leonard Murphy; Homer and Ola Vaughan; Jack and Ethel Vaughan; Russell and Stella Vaughan.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law Carolyn Murphy of Fries, Virginia; Karen and Butch Blankenship of Woodlawn, Virginia; three grandchildren Larissa Edwards; Seth Edwards; Connor Blankenship; brother and sister-in-law Duane and Shirley Vaughan of Baywood, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Providence Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Bedwell officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Providence United Methodist Church.
