Carl R. Rector's Obituary
Carl R. Rector age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Rector was born on April 20, 1925 in Galax, Virginia to John and Myrtle Felts Rector. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Rector.
He is survived by his step-daughter and husband Brooke and Clarence Key of Powhatan, Virginia; sister Claudine Porter of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two step-granddaughters Amy Turman and Clare Tyner; three step-grandchildren; niece Nancy Atakhan and several great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Christian Church. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the First Christian Church with Rev. Randy Morris officiating.
