Carl Thomas Fugate age 73 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Fugate was born in West Virginia on March 8, 1941 to Vincent and Inez Tyree Fugate.

He proudly served our country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Jeanie Fugate of Fries, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Sherry Fugate of Beckley, West Virginia; Barbara and Vince Brown of Galax, Virginia; Kimberly McKinney of Charlotte, North Carolina; son Stacy McKinney of Ashtabula, Ohio; sister Lois Carabello of Roanoke, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Willie Mae Fugate of Memphis, Tennessee; mother-in-law Susie Anderson of Fries, Virginia; son-in-law Nate Brown of Wytheville, Virginia; sister-in-law and husband Linda and Ralph King of Forrest, Virginia; brother-in-law and wife Roger and Judy Anderson of Roanoke, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Miles Siler, Elder Earnest Anderson and Minister Sherry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson-Taylor Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
