Carl Eugene Edwards age 80 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County, Va. on July 10, 1926 to the late Hobart & Cora Vaughan Edwards. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ida Bell Love Edwards; sister Luella Shupe and brother Dale Edwards. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Barbara & Donald Johnson of Fries, Va.; Wanda Ayers; Glenna & George Gullion all of Galax, Va.; sisters Lauella Frazier & Martha Combs both of Hillsville, Va.; Darl Barlow of Austinville, Va.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Arlin Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
