Carl Robinson Chapman's Obituary
Carl Robinson Chapman, age 85, Fries, VA, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Chapman was born Feb. 26, 1931 in Charlotte, NC to Thomas Carl and Josephine Price Chapman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Diane Cheek Chapman, and son, Christopher Jones Chapman.
He is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Jennifer and David Shaw, Galax, VA, Melissa and Derrick Branscome, Hillsville, VA; sons & daughters-in-law, Mike & Kathy Chapman, Salisbury, NC, Mark & Len Chapman, Concord, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances & Ray Knox, Davidson, NC, Becky & Richard Wilson, Cornelius, NC; Eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, also, survive.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, 3:00 pm, in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel, Galax, VA. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Lee Houston.
Mr. Chapman was a retired Captain in the National Guard Reserves and military rites will be performed by the Grayson VFW Post #7726.
