Obituary

Camet went on a much anticipated journey to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday October 29. He faithfully served his Lord and all who met him were introduced to the love of Christ. It was his greatest purpose in life to serve as pastor of Great Hope Baptist Church for 36 years where he led many to know Christ.

Camet proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was a very compassionate and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to the love of his life Rita Janell for almost 65 years.  He had a zest for life even at 90 years young. He loved camping by the river and grilling a good hotdog with friends and family. He never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with a contagious smile and love in his heart.

Camet is survived by his wife, Rita Douglas Spivey; three daughters Kathy Waugh of Mountain City, TN, Denise Johnson and Lisa Savage of Galax VA.; two son in laws Richard Waugh and Sam Johnson; six grandchildren and their spouses Keith and Jenny Johnson, Chip and Tara Johnson, Allison and Drew Taylor, Katherine and Daniel Thaxton, Bailey and Jesse Allison, Laken and Chance Bourne. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren who all loved him dearly.

Camet was predeceased by his parents E.E .and Ruby Houseman Spivey and 5 siblings.
