Buford Bailey Crockett (United States Marines) age 93 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 31. 2015 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mr. Crockett was born in Galax, Virginia on December 31, 1921 to John Dyer and Ada Baker Crockett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Catherine Higginbotham and Patty Robertson; two brothers Samuel Baker Crockett (Army) and Joseph Pierce Crockett (Navy).

He is survived by his wife Christine Kegley Crockett of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Chris and Ron Reynolds of Roanoke, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law B. Brent and Johnette Crockett of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandchildren Chase Huffman and Emily Huffman; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 445 Galax, Virginia 24333 or to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 North West 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136.
