Brenda Lee Hanks age 52 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home.

Brenda was born in Galax, Virginia on September 9, 1966. She was preceded in death by her husband Nelson Jefferson Hanks and her adoptive parents Chester and Opal Miller Wyatt.

She is survived by a daughter Keshia Newman of Dugspur, Virginia; sons Patrick Wyatt and Cody Hanks both of Galax, Virginia; Mike Hanks of Hillsville, Virginia;  three grandchildren Dustin Newman; Jacob Newman and Daniel Wyatt; mother Ruby Johnson of Galax, Virginia; sisters Carolyn Kegley of Fries, Virginia; Charlene Wyatt of Andrews, North Carolina;  several other siblings, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
