Brenda Kay Sawyers Faulkner age 73 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Brenda was born in Galax, Virginia on March 21, 1951 to Howard and Betty Criner Sawyers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Faulkner and a sister Sharon Tate.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Michael Horton of Independence, Virginia;  step-son and wife Jason and April Burcham of Fries, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Darlene Elliott; Marilyn and Alfred Jones all of Fries, Virginia;  brothers and sister-in-law Ritchie Sawyers of Galax, Virginia; Michael and Shannon Sawyers of Roanoke, Virginia;  three grandchildren  Chelsea Horton; Kendra Phipps (Gavin); Emily Horton; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Bo-Bo Gravley officiating. Burial will follow in the Atkins Memorial Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home
