Brandon Troy Riggins age 35 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

Brandon was born on December 30, 1981 in Galax, Virginia to James E. and Cindy Rippey Riggins Jr.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Clifford Rippey and his paternal grandparents James and Emma Riggins.

In addition to his parents of Galax, Virginia he is survived by a son and his mother Bear Dakota Riggins and Misty Tate Riggins of Galax, Virginia; special friend Chelsea Riddle and her children Jase and Levi; brother and sister-in-law Eric and Samantha Riggins of Galax, Virginia; maternal grandmother Helen Rippey of Galax, Virginia; nieces Alyssa Haverty and Kyelee Haverty; nephew Cameron Riggins; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Hillcrest Baptist Church. The family would like for guest to bring written memories to compose a scrapbook for Bear, and wear your favorite Brandon attire, for example a tie dyed tee shirt. Lunch will follow at the home of James and Cindy Riggins. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the Hillcrest Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. There will be no visitation at the funeral home but friends may call at the home of James and Cindy Riggins anytime.
