Bobby Ray Thomason, Sr., 80, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home.
He was born December 11, 1935 in Galax to the late Lee Thomason and Inez Baker Thomason.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Helen Thomason, Mary Ruth Hawks and brothers Harry Lee Thomason and Joby Thomason.

Bobby was Vice President of Quality Control at Vaughan Furniture, retiring after 41 years of service.

Surviving is his wife Margaret Matthews Thomason of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Bobby Ray Thomason Jr and Brenda of Galax; daughters Malessa Thomason Edwards and Betty Thomason Roberts both of Galax; three grandchildren Marcus Calvin Edwards & Whitney; Cristie LeAnne Edwards & Eric; Joshua (Josh) Uriah Thomason & Jessica; sisters Dorothy (Dot) Lee Tillotson and Betty Lou Reid both of Galax; brother and sister in law: J. D. Thomason and Alice of Galax. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and special friend and fishing partner Bill Murphy.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 25, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan Guynn Funeral Home. A private family graveside will be held.
