Bobby Dean Moretz age 64 of Independence, Virginia passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Bobby was born on May 19, 1960 in Galax, Virginia to Ira Eugene and Catherene Gray Moretz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Kay Moretz.

he proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Teila and Tyler Felts of Woodlawn, Virginia; brother Chuck Moretz of Galax, Virginia; niece and spouse Melissa and Andrew Eaves; nephews and spouses Chadwick and Tyla Moretz; Johnathan and Emily Moretz; great nieces and great nephews Garren Moretz; Sophia Moretz; Lennon Moretz; Noah Huffman; Natalie Huffman; Hannah Eaves; Mason Eaves; Bryant Moretz; Elina Moretz and Peyton Moretz; one uncle and several cousins.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Junior Bullion officiating. Burial will follow the Galax City Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
