Bobby Ray Melton age 70 of Rural Retreat, Virginia passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the Carrington Place at Rural Retreat.

Bobby was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 18, 1947 to Isaac Lawrence and Nina Combs Melton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Darrell Melton; sisters Carolyn Melton; Connie Burcham and Beulah Felts and brothers Ralph Melton, Sterlin Melton and Melvin Melton.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Richie Lee Melton and Heather Martin of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Donnie Ray and Paula Melton of Woodlawn, Virginia; five grandchildren Cassandra Davis, Allison Paige Melton, Tiffany Ann Melton; Nicholas Melton and Joseph Stone; sisters Lannie Bond of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Mozelle Felts of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; brother William Virgil Melton of Fancy Gap, Virginia; special friend and mother of the children Anna Melton; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Angie Lineberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
