Bobby Gene Edwards age 63 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Grayson County, Virginia on February 9, 1946 to Van Olin & Sophia Reeves Edwards. In addtion to his father Van Olin Edwards of Independence, Virginia he is survived by his wife Avis Edwards of Galax, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Tammy & Joey Herrington; son & daughter-in-law Steven Wayne & Cindy Edwards all of Galax, Va.; sisters Virginia Farrell of Nashville, Tennessee, Mary Worrell & Irene Thomson both of Richmond, Va.; brothers Jimmy Edwards of Galax, Va.; Odell Edwards of Randalman, N.C.; grandchildren Ethan Cody Edwards, Sarah Rene Edwards and Taylor Paige Herrington; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Garry Adams officiating. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service. Burial will follow in Camp Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
